Installation Guides
Most IBC accessories are designed for tool-free installation, but getting it right the first time saves you time, prevents leaks, and extends the life of both the accessory and the tote. Here are our tips for the most common installations.
Replacing a 6" Screw Cap & Gasket
- 1Remove the old cap by turning counter-clockwise. Inspect the threads on the tote neck for cracks or stripped areas.
- 2Peel the old gasket from the underside of the cap or the tote rim. Clean both surfaces with a damp cloth to remove residue.
- 3Seat the new EPDM or silicone gasket into the cap groove. Make sure it sits flat with no folds or twists.
- 4Thread the new cap onto the tote by hand. Tighten firmly but do not over-torque, which can crack the PP threads. A quarter-turn past hand-tight is sufficient.
- 5Fill the tote with a small amount of water and invert briefly to check for leaks around the cap seal.
Installing an S60x6 Valve Adapter
- 1Close the existing butterfly or ball valve completely and confirm no liquid remains in the discharge area.
- 2Unscrew the existing valve assembly from the S60x6 outlet by turning counter-clockwise. Use a strap wrench if it is tight; do not use pipe wrenches, which damage plastic threads.
- 3Inspect the outlet threads on the tote bottle. Clean any old thread sealant or debris with a stiff nylon brush.
- 4Apply two wraps of PTFE tape clockwise onto the adapter threads (not the tote outlet threads). This ensures the tape does not unwind during installation.
- 5Thread the new adapter onto the outlet by hand, then tighten a quarter-turn past hand-tight. Connect your hose, camlock, or NPT fitting and check for leaks under pressure.
Setting Up a Tote Heater Blanket
- 1Place the IBC tote on a flat, level surface away from flammable materials. Ensure the tote is at least 12 inches from walls.
- 2Wrap the heater blanket around the tote bottle, centering it vertically. The blanket should cover the middle 60-70% of the bottle height for optimal heat distribution.
- 3Secure the blanket using the integrated straps or Velcro closures. The blanket should be snug against the bottle but not pulling on the cage wires.
- 4Plug the blanket into a GFCI-protected outlet. Set the thermostat to your desired temperature. Allow 2-4 hours for the contents to reach target temperature.
- 5For cold-weather outdoor use, add an insulation jacket over the heater blanket to reduce energy consumption by up to 40%.
Inserting a Drop-In Liner
- 1Remove the top fill cap and inspect the interior of the tote bottle. It should be clean and free of sharp edges or burrs that could puncture the liner.
- 2Unfold the liner and lower it into the tote, guiding the bottom corners into the tote bottle corners. Do not force or stretch the liner.
- 3Pull the liner top over the tote rim and smooth out any major folds. The liner does not need to be perfectly wrinkle-free; it will conform under liquid weight.
- 4Connect the bottom discharge tube to the tote valve assembly. Ensure the tube extends fully to the discharge port and is not kinked.
- 5Secure the liner top around the fill opening and reinstall the fill cap over the liner collar. Fill slowly at first to allow the liner to settle evenly.

Customer Favorites
These are the most frequently ordered IBC accessories based on real purchase volume from our customers across Indiana and the Midwest. If you are not sure where to start, these are the items most operations need on hand.
2" S60x6 Butterfly Valve
The most commonly replaced IBC part. Valves wear out with regular use, and a leaky valve means lost product and a messy floor. Customers reorder these on a recurring basis.
6" Screw Cap with Gasket
Caps crack from UV exposure during outdoor storage, and gaskets dry out over time. A fresh cap and gasket combo is the cheapest way to seal a tote properly.
S60x6 to Garden Hose Adapter
The simplest way to dispense from an IBC tote without a pump. Hugely popular with farms, small businesses, and homestead operations that use totes for water or liquid storage.
IBC Tote Heater Blanket
Essential for any operation storing viscous liquids or running IBC totes outdoors in winter. Prevents freezing and maintains pumpable viscosity in cold temperatures.
Drop-In IBC Liner
Customers who switch between product types or want to protect a tote from staining order liners in bulk. Eliminates the need for cleaning between product changes.
Camlock Quick-Connect Adapter
Fast, tool-free connection and disconnection makes camlock the go-to choice for operations that connect and disconnect hoses frequently throughout the day.
IBC Spill Containment Pallet
Required by EPA regulations for hazardous material storage. Many customers order these alongside their first IBC tote purchase to be compliant from day one.
IBC Dust Cover
An inexpensive way to keep rain, dust, and debris out of outdoor-stored totes. Customers in manufacturing and agriculture order these by the dozen.
