What is the minimum order for free delivery?
Free delivery is available for orders of 50 or more totes within our 200-mile direct delivery radius from Fort Wayne, IN. For smaller orders or longer distances, we offer competitive flat-rate and per-unit shipping. Contact us for a precise quote based on your location and quantity.
Can I schedule a specific delivery time window?
Yes. We offer morning (7:00 AM - 12:00 PM), afternoon (12:00 PM - 5:00 PM), and all-day delivery windows for direct fleet deliveries. LTL and FTL shipments can be scheduled with appointment delivery through our freight partners for an additional coordination fee. Same-day deliveries in the Fort Wayne metro area can be scheduled within a 2-hour window.
Do I need a loading dock to receive a delivery?
No. Our direct delivery trucks are equipped with liftgate service, which allows us to lower totes to ground level at locations without a loading dock. For LTL freight deliveries, liftgate service is available as an add-on option. Please let us know at the time of order if your location does not have a dock, and we will arrange the appropriate equipment.
What happens if totes are damaged during delivery?
All shipments are insured for full replacement value. If any tote arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours with photos of the damage. We will arrange a replacement shipment at no charge. For direct fleet deliveries, our drivers inspect totes with you at the point of delivery, so any issues are caught immediately.
Can I track my shipment in real time?
Yes. Direct fleet deliveries include a delivery confirmation call or text when our driver is 30 minutes from your location. LTL and FTL shipments include a tracking number and link to our freight partner's tracking portal, which provides real-time location updates from pickup to delivery.
Do you deliver on weekends or holidays?
Standard deliveries are Monday through Friday. Saturday delivery is available by appointment for direct fleet deliveries within our service area, and may incur an additional scheduling fee. We do not deliver on Sundays or major holidays. If you have a time-sensitive need, contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
Seasonal Delivery Considerations
Weather and seasonal factors can affect delivery logistics. Here is what to plan for during winter and summer months.
Winter Delivery (November - March)
- Snow and ice can delay deliveries by 1-2 business days in severe weather. We will notify you of any delays as soon as they are anticipated.
- IBC totes containing water or water-based liquids should not be left on unheated loading docks in freezing temperatures. Plan to move totes indoors promptly.
- Salt and road treatment chemicals can accelerate corrosion on steel cages. Rinse cage bases after winter delivery if stored outdoors.
- Our Fort Wayne facility remains open during winter weather unless road conditions are unsafe. Email us at info@fortwayneibcrecycling.com during severe weather for status updates.
- Heated storage is recommended for totes holding temperature-sensitive liquids. We can wrap totes in insulated blankets for transit upon request.
Summer Delivery (June - September)
- UV exposure accelerates HDPE degradation. If totes will be stored outdoors, position them in shaded areas or use UV-protective covers to extend bottle lifespan.
- High temperatures can cause liquid expansion inside sealed totes. Leave headspace when filling, and ensure pressure relief caps are installed if totes will sit in direct sun.
- Summer is our peak demand season. Order lead times may extend by 2-3 days during June through August. Place orders early to secure your preferred delivery date.
- Asphalt and concrete surfaces can reach 140F+ in direct sun. Avoid placing HDPE-bottled totes directly on hot surfaces for extended periods, as sustained heat can soften the bottle base.
- Our facility hours extend to 6:00 PM during summer months (June through August) to accommodate longer operational days for our customers.
International Shipping
While our core service area covers six Midwest states, we also ship reconditioned IBC totes to Canada, Mexico, and overseas destinations through our international freight partners. Cross-border shipments require additional documentation and coordination, but our logistics team handles the details so you can focus on your operations.
For shipments to Canada, we work with customs brokers experienced in industrial container classification. IBC totes are typically classified under HS Code 3923.90 (plastic articles for transport) or 7326.90 (steel articles), depending on the primary material. We provide commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin as required.
For Mexico-bound shipments, we coordinate with carriers experienced in US-Mexico cross-border freight. All shipments comply with USMCA (formerly NAFTA) requirements, and we provide the necessary documentation for smooth customs clearance. Transit time to northern Mexico is typically 5-7 business days from Fort Wayne.
Canada
Regular shipments to Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, and Alberta. Transit time 3-7 business days. Customs documentation provided. ISPM 15 compliant wood pallets or composite pallets available.
Mexico

If you have a loading dock, confirm it is available and accessible at the scheduled time. If not, ensure you requested liftgate service when ordering so our driver arrives with the right equipment.
Have a forklift or pallet jack available
For pallet-loaded deliveries, you will need a forklift or powered pallet jack to move totes from the truck to your storage area. Standard hand pallet jacks can move empty totes but may struggle with full ones.
Assign a receiving contact person
Designate someone at your facility who will be present to receive the delivery, inspect totes, sign for the shipment, and direct the driver to the correct placement location.
Prepare your inspection checklist
Have your internal receiving checklist ready to verify tote count, grade, valve type, and condition upon arrival. Compare delivered totes against your order confirmation to catch any discrepancies immediately.
Check weather forecast and plan accordingly
